患有听力残疾的中国少女的画家之梦
失去听力的中国女孩现在庆尚道安东学习美术。现就读国立安东大学西洋画专业的袁敏就是主人公。（27岁4年级）
袁敏不仅英语水平比较高，连韩国语水平也非常突出，和一般人的沟通上几乎没有障碍。当然她的对话是无声的。
以书写韩国语或者英文方式进行对话，偶尔遇到一些不认识的单词，她就会马上拿出电子词典查找单词。
她来到安东是2005年3月，从上海大学美术专业休学后义无反顾的来到了韩国，因为她喜欢韩国。
通过在语言教育学院的1年学习，第二年2006年3月插班到西洋画专业三年级。之后到现在3学期一直在努力学习画画。
在安东开始她的留学生涯的时候因为饮食方面的不适应和周边人对听力残疾人的异样眼光，她经受着莫大的压力，但是她比其他人还要刻苦学习，经过第一学期的考试后袁敏拿到了奖学金，给其他中国人作出了榜样。
在寝室和其他三名韩国学生相处得也非常融洽，做到了兄长的模范。
她的这种积极向上，肯定地人生态度得到了教授和学友们的称赞、激励与关心。
同寝的李秀珍（韩国人，20岁，自然大学 1年级）说：“敏姐的自信和让我们不敢相信她有听力障碍，而且她那诚实的面对生活的态度值得我们学习。”
袁敏成为听力残疾人的缘由凄惨无比。
独生女的她，出生时原本是个健健康康的小孩，但由于父母双方都要上班把袁敏托付给邻居照料，谁知成为了袁敏失去听力的祸根。
照料袁敏的邻居常常虐待她最终把她的耳膜打破，从此袁敏便失去了听力。
成长的过程中，其他人在说笑的时候她却因为听不到而痛苦不已，连托儿所、幼儿园都上不了。
那时她就感受到了父母的爱，肯定地去面对现实，不亚于正常人的坚强的活着。
喜欢达利和凡高的袁敏，表明在情况允许的前提下希望去美国继续学习美术专业或者计算机等其他专业以深造自己。袁敏一字一句的无声的说：“我要用我所学的知识报答这个世界。同时要为残疾人作出贡献。并且我要告诉所有的残疾人，我们的存在不是社会的负担，而是社会的支柱。”

The Painting Dream of a Chinese Girl with Hearing Disability
The protagonist of this article from China is studying Occident Painting in Andong National University, Gyeongsangbuk Province in Korea now. Her name is Min Yuan, 27-year-old, senior in Andong National University.
Min not only studied English by herself but also has exceptional proficiency ability in Korean. Communicating with her is easy but silent. We write what we want to say in English and Korean to let each other understand. She sometimes uses the electronic dictionary instantly to find out the meaning of some words when we can not find some other substitute word.
In March of 2005, she suspended her college schooling in Department of Decorative, Fine Art College of Shanghai University and came from Shanghai to Andong with no doubt. She loves Korea, she says.
After one year studying for Korean language, she entered into the Department of Occident Painting, Art College of Andong National University as junior in March of 2006. She studied extremely hard within the last 3 semester while she couldn’t get with the Korean food severely. She also got much pressure from the others who watched and pointed at her as she has the hearing disability. But she was rewarded the scholarship for her hard studying as a positive exemplary example to Chinese oversea students and Korean students. Also all of her roommates and Yuan Min get alone well with each other. She is a good sister to them all. As return, her professors and her class friends appreciated and affirmed her positive attitude to herself and her life.
‘I can’t believe sister Min has the hearing disability. Her confidence and the honest attitude to life influenced me a lot. I learned much from sister Min.’ said XiuZhen Lee (freshman of Nature College, 20-year-old), Yuan Min’s roommate.
As the single child of her family, she was born with health like any other common child. But both of her parents were too busy to take care of her so that they had to ask their neighborhood to look after her resulted her adversity and finally lost the hearing ability. When she grew up year by year she suffered from not hearing anything. She couldn’t enter into the normal kindergarten at that moment but she felt the true love from her parents. Face the fact positively and live much more resolutely!

Min, who loves Vincent van Gogh and Salvador Dalí deeply, hopes to study fine art or computer art more in United State. She told me without any voice,’ I wish to requite the whole world with my knowledge. Wish to contribute anything to the disable. I want to tell the other disable people, our existence is not the encumbrance of the society, we are the mainstay!’

자그마한 몸집의 위엔민 씨는 영어는 물론 우리말 실력이 뛰어나 비장애인들과 의사소통을 하는 데 거의 지장이 없을 정도다.
물론 그녀의 대화는 소리가 나지 않는다.
종이 위에 우리말이나 영어 글자를 적어 나누는 대화는 그러나 거의 막힘이 없다. 가끔 모르는 낱말이 나올 때면 얼른 전자사전을 꺼내 무슨 뜻인지 알아내고야 만다.
그녀가 안동을 찾은 것은 지난 2005년 3월로 상하이대학 미술학과를 휴학한 뒤 무작정 한국이 좋아 황해를 건넜다.
1년 동안 학교 언어교육원에서 한국어를 배운 뒤 이듬해인 2006년 3월에 서양화 전공 3학년생으로 정식 편입했고 그 뒤 지금까지 3학기 동안 열심히 붓과 팔레트를 들고 그림 그리기에 몰두해 오고 있다.
안동에서의 생활을 막 시작할 때는 음식도 입에 맞지 않고 청각장애인을 보는 시선이 아무래도 자연스럽지 않아 마음고생도 했지만 누구보다 열심히 공부해 첫 학기때 장학금을 받는 등 중국 여성의 당찬 모습을 보여주었다.
후배 3명과 한 방을 쓰고 있는 학교 기숙사에서 맏언니 노릇을 모범적으로 하고 있는 것은 물론이다.
이런 생활태도 덕분에 교수님과 학우들의 칭찬과 격려, 관심이 끊이지 않고 있다.
기숙사에서 같은 방을 쓰고 있는 이수진(20.자연대 1년)씨는 "위엔민 언니는 청각장애인이라는 사실이 믿기지 않을 만큼 자신있고 또 성실하게 생활하고 있어서 배울 점이 참 많다"고 말했다.
위엔민 씨가 청각을 잃은 사연은 애처롭기 그지없다.
외동딸인 그녀는 원래 건강하게 태어났으나 부모님이 모두 직장생활을 하다보니 다른 사람이 맡아 키우게 된 게 화근이었다.
아기를 맡은 집안 사람들이 상습적으로 아기를 때렸고 결국 고막을 다치게 됐던 것.
커가면서 다른 사람이 말하고 웃을 때 아무 것도 들리지 않아 무척 고통스러웠고 탁아소나 유치원도 갈 수 없게 됐다.
그러나 그 시절 부모님의 극진한 사랑을 깨닫게 되면서 현실을 긍정적으로 받아들이게 됐고 지금껏 비장애인 못지 않게 당당한 삶을 살아오고 있다.
살바도르 달리와 반 고흐를 좋아한다는 위엔민 씨는 사정이 허락한다면 안동대 졸업 후 미국으로 가서 미술 공부를 더 하거나 컴퓨터 등 다른 분야도 공부해 보고 싶다는 포부를 밝혔다.
"제가 배운 것을 갖고 세상에 기여하고 싶습니다. 그리고 세계의 장애인들을 위해 할 수 있는 것을 다 하고 싶습니다. 전체 장애인에게 알리고 싶은 것은 장애인은 사회의 번거로운 존재가 아니라 사회의 기둥이라는 것입니다". 위엔민 씨는 또박또박 써내린 우리말로 소리없이 말했다.
